the Work

Creative leadership and hands-on direction

“When your nonprofit organization meets with a fund raising consulting firm,” he explains, “senior consultants often are in attendance. Once many of these firms are retained, however, the senior consultants are rarely seen again. In their place, junior associates are assigned to the account. I built my firm around a solution to this fundamental problem and made a commitment to provide my years of fund raising management experience for all clients and counsel at the highest level for all members of an organization, including board members, executive leadership, development staff, and volunteers.”

Areas of counsel

  • Assessment of advancement offices and infrastructure upgrades to position for fund raising growth
  • Coordination of searches for development personnel to build fund raising infrastructure
  • Strategic planning to define an organization’s future
  • Feasibility studies to test a case for support and table of needs based on the strategic plan
  • Program and institutional growth initiatives — ranging from separate projects to capital campaigns involving endowment, facility expansion, and program enrichment — to secure a sustainable future
  • Annual fund drives to generate stronger support and wider participation
  • Major gift/multi-year support — above and beyond annual fund raising — to ensure institutional growth
  • Creation and marketing of a new institutional vision to grow awareness and attract new support

  • Motivation of volunteers in meeting fund raising goals
  • Training in solicitations and leadership
  • Creation of concise reports, outlines, and presentations
